Written by choir member Leah Bolton:
Today started off with a bang! We walked in a parade from the the church to the the city hall. Since all of the other choirs had something festive, we waved our silver and white scarves. At the town square each choir and folk dancing group performed for the mayor of Calella. We sang Go Where I Send Thee, Chattanooga Choo-Choo and our national anthem. Our performance was so well received; everyone really enjoyed it. It makes me really happy to see so many nationalities come together through music.
Having just performed such an amazing concert, we only spend 45 minutes doing some final preparation toward our concert for the night. During our free time some went shopping, others went swimming. Some wore sunscreen, others didn't....oh well. We bravely put on our infamous black dresses to perform another concert at the festival. We sang some of our secular pieces. We closed with Edelweiss and the audience joined in singing it with us. We then listened and watched other choirs as they performed and we clapped to their music. We really enjoyed the Sardinians. The girls then got their picture taken with one of the handsome folk dancers, Alberto.
It was a wonderful evening and we were all laughing and giggling as we walked back to the hotel at 12:30 a.m.
