2004 Summer Tour: Chicago and Milwaukee

Day 7
Sunday, June 27, 2004

[This report was e-mailed by Tarbell Patton from Chicago on Monday.]

Another rough start this morning. Tired girls, early performances, and a missing bus driver caused us to rush to the 8:00 performance at Christ United Methodist Church. The girls performed at the 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00 services (!). They sang beautifully in spite of everything. After the service, the girls were served lunch, while Mr. Patten took Mrs. Casagrande to the airport to rent a car. She drove all the way back to Milwaukee to retrieve a concert dress and a bathing suit that were left at the hotel.

After lunch, we went to the CherryVale Mall to let the girls have some time to roam and get their shopping fix in. In order to impress upon the seniors the importance of working with the group, and because they all brought cell phones in spite of being told not to, Mr. Patten decided to let each of them serve as tour director for a while. So far, it has been a very educational experience for them. Mrs. Casagrance met us at the mall, and we drove to Court Street Methodist Church to have dinner and prepare for the evening concert. We were served a wonderful dinner before the concert. The girls sang beautifully once again and were asked to perform an encore number. After the concert, we met our host families and went to a real home for the night.
